Operations & Governance
Members of Beta Theta Pi are expected to live according to the values of the Fraternity and to hold their brothers accountable to those same high standards. Chapters are expected to conduct their operations in a similar manner and to proactively address problems that arise.
Self-governance means that chapters are effectively conducting the business of the fraternity, including chapter meetings, Kai Committee meetings, ritual and member education. Beta has many resources to help chapters self-govern.
- Chapter officers and committee chairmen should use Beta’s Online Learning Center to access position descriptions, operating calendars, best practices, and other lessons and resources. Contact Beta’s Administrative Office if you have difficulty using the site (800.800.BETA).
- Exec teams should use Beta’s Online Learning Center to find resources for officer transitions and retreats.
Special Initiations
Chapters interested in initiating an unaffiliated community member, parent or Friend of Beta should complete the Special Initiation Form.
