Foundation Ambassadors
What is the Ambassador Program?
The Ambassador Program is a Beta Foundation outreach strategy which recruits advocates for the Beta Leadership Fund. Although the Beta Foundation Staff is continuously cultivating and soliciting Betas and friends in support of the Beta Leadership Fund throughout the year, the Ambassador Program empowers volunteers to join our efforts. In the end, the Ambassador Program seeks to advance Beta’s mission to develop men of principle for a principled life.
How do Ambassadors Enlist Alumni Support for the Beta Leadership Fund?
Ambassadors primarily contact Beta alumni through personal phone calls. The goal of this outreach is to build relationships, communicate the educational objectives of the Beta Foundation and increase support for the Beta Leadership Fund. The workload for a Foundation Ambassador is manageable and includes calling upon 10-20 potential donors at the end of the calendar year (December) and the end of the fiscal year (May) – the Beta Foundation’s most productive fundraising months.
Am I Qualified to Serve as a Foundation Ambassador?
You are qualified to serve as a Foundation Ambassador if (1) you understand, support and can communicate the mission and vision of Beta Theta Pi, and (2) you are willing to encourage other Betas to follow your lead by making an annual contribution to BLF. Don’t worry if you aren’t in-tune with all of the Fraternity and Foundation language, because a conference call is held in late November to prepare Foundation Ambassadors for their outreach efforts.
If you are interested in serving your Fraternity as a Foundation Ambassador this fiscal year, contact Director of Advancement, Koby Harrington.
